Chief of Police
The City of Colby is seeking applicants for the Chief of Police position. This position performs work necessary to plan, organize, direct, and supervise the activities and personnel of the Police Department. The successful candidate must have thorough knowledge of modern police principles, methods, and practices. Any combination of experience, training, or education equivalent to an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or related field and six years of experience in law enforcement including three years in a supervisory role is desirable for this position. American Red Cross Certified Lifeguards, Swim Instructors and Concessions/Admissions Workers
The City of Colby and the Recreation Department are hiring American Red Cross certified lifeguards, swim instructors and concessions/admissions workers for the 2013 summer season. All guards must be at least 15 years of age and certified in Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR training. Guard salary will be $8-$11, based on experience. Concessions/admissions employees must be at least 16 years of age, and salary will be $7.50-$7.85/hour. Colby Community College is offering certification and recertification classes in May. Contact the Admissions offices at 460.4690 for class information. Employees are eligible for certification reimbursement. New employees must fill out an application which can be obtained at City Hall. Returning personnel may request that their previous application be considered. All applications and requests for consideration must be turned into the Rec office at 285 E. 5th Street or contacted at 460.4440 by Friday, April 5. Application review will begin April 8, 2013.
